Facial Massage is what every person needs in their arsenal of monthly self care.

Benefits

Working from the inside out, facial massage begins with releasing stress, tightness and tension from the muscles around the chest, decolletage, shoulders and neck region - which often are the causes for jaw clenching, TMJ, grinding and facial distortions. Once these muscles are released, this therapy moves onto a systematic detoxification of the facial skin through lymphatic drainage, firm, slow or relaxing strokes around the jaw line, cheekbones, sinus region, eye orbital area, forehead and scalp.

Facial Massage is enormously helpful in assisting your bodies natural systems to work more efficiently to detoxify and bring more blood and oxygen flow to your skin. Both of which are super important for healthy vital facial skin that looks fresh, healthy, relaxed and youthful.

Tailored to your skin concerns and incorporated into each facial treatment is a beautiful clean beauty skincare range - Retreatment Botanics, which was lovingly co-founded by Trudi Jaye and Olivia Newton John for Gaia Retreat & Spa. Retreatment Botanics created clean products for the conscious skincare lover seeking powerful plant actives to transform their skin. All formulas utilise a high concentration of vitamins and antioxidants naturally found within Australian native botanicals and scientifically balance these in the optimal dose, giving rise to products that heal, protect and restore skin health. Retreatment Botanics are the first spa quality skincare ranges to be certified Palm Oil free. All products are also certified Vegan, Cruelty Free and Australian Made.

That post holiday look and glow

Not only is Facial Massage deeply satisfying, it is designed to help you reduce puffiness and sagging around the face and eyes, slim down your jaw line, tighten and lift the appearance of the cheekbones, widen the appearance of the eye region, hydrate the skin and assist with sinus issues and facial / neck / shoulder tension.

Add to your treatment with LED Light therapy - Book as your first appointment a 90 minutes treatment and your therapist will include LED Light Therapy as part of the process to super charge the initial results. A further 4 treatments within the next 4 to 6 weeks will assist you with seeing faster long term changes. For ongoing long term results we recommend Facial Massage once per month (60 minute treatment) supplemented with intermittent 30 minute LED Light Therapy sessions for optimal skin health, glow and plumpness.

Why LED Light Therapy is the key to the kind of skin you’ve always wanted

The LED Light Therapy panel is used for skin repair and facial rejuvenation.

Phototherapy, or light therapy, is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and is used in a variety of ways across many medical fields, including in more therapeutic environments like our own at MO+. Research has shown that light therapy can work to increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, reverse signs of sun damage, improve skin tone, as well as overall texture and clarity of the skin. Light therapy has also been shown to increase the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin, working to create a more radiant and youthful complexion. In essence, the MO+ Light Therapy treatments works to improve and increase the cellular metabolism of the skin, helping in the repair, rejuvenation and replenishment of our clients complexions.

How Does Light Energy work?

Specific wavelengths of light energy, when properly absorbed, up-regulates compromised cells. The light (photons) energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components.

Specific wavelengths of light energy, when properly absorbed, up-regulates compromised or damaged cells. The light (photons) energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components. Blue, red and near-infrared are the most commonly used wavelengths in LED phototherapy. These specific wavelengths are well researched and scientifically proven to produce therapeutic benefits. Blue penetrates through the epidermis and is known to kill P.acnes bacteria. Red penetrates into the dermal layer and has been shown to enhance collagen and elastin production through photo-biostimulation of fibroblasts. Near-infrared penetrates deepest and increases micro-circulation (tissue repair), decreases inflammation and attenuates pain.

LED Light Therapy and Beauty Facial Treatments at MO+

Light Therapy is often incorporated into our beauty treatments (Facial Sculpting and Facial Acupuncture) both as an added boost to skin health or as a stand alone treatment to maintain healthy glowing skin. As a stand alone treatment we recommend twice a week (30min session) for 6 weeks, then maintain with one session every four weeks.
